The Maker:

Honeycomb Studio is a small batch porcelain shop created by Courtney Hamill in November 2012. Based in Atlanta's West Midtown district, Courtney designs and executes original porcelain designs by hand. Utilizing wheel thrown, slip-casting and hand building techniques, each of her pieces is completely unique, providing the customer with an beautiful, one-of-a-kind, small-scale sculpture.

An Atlanta native, Courtney discovered ceramics later than most. On a whim, she signed up for an introductory ceramics class on the wheel her Junior year in college and, during that semester, developed an intense love-hate relationship with clay. Over the course of many late nights in the studio, the hate melted away and was replaced by a life-long passion for pottery. She moved to Floyd, Virgina for a year to apprentice with Donna Polseno and Rick Hensley on the Blue Ridge Parkway. n 2012, after a brief hiatus from ceramics, Courtney walked away from her career in non-profit fundraising and hasn't looked back. She has been named by Huffington Post as one of the Top 15 Home Decor Trendsetters from the South and by Garden and Gun Magazine as one of the Next Generation of Southern Ceramicists.

Honeycomb Studio has developed an enthusiastic and growing customer base as well as nationwide and international retail partnerships. We offer three main lines of production: The Antler Series, The Vessel Series and an Heirloom Holiday Series. All items are cast from hand-crafted plaster molds using liquid porcelain and glazed in an electric kiln up to three times to achieve the desired effects. Because each piece is crafted by hand, one-at-a-time, no two pieces are ever exactly alike.
